November starts with the Farming Small Areas Expo at the Hawkesbury Showground on Friday & Saturday November 7 & 8. Richmond Tafe will be hosting a whole range of Horse Activities relating to the Performance Horse Courses that they offer at the College.
Part of the display and demonstration schedule for the Horse Feature will include "Painting the Muscles, Bones and Internal Organs" on live horses. Basic Horse Handling, Training a Horse to a Stock Whip, Basic First Aid for Horses, Nutrition Talks, Leather and Whip Plaiting.
Draught horses will be featured with a basic introduction to Harnessing a Draught Horse, along with some wonderful representatives of the Heavy Horse Breeds which will be on show in all their finery.
The staff from the Farrier and Ornamental Blacksmithing courses will be there again this year to display their unique skills of the trade. So if you are interested in becoming a blacksmith or just want to learn how to shoe or trim your own horse, these are the guys to teach you!
